About This Warrior

I am 32 years old and have 5 year old twins.  Besides managing these boy/girl geniuses (of course - says the mother!), I'm also a practicing structural engineer who manages an arm of a not for profit material trade association, all while trying to not give up my life as a marathon runner.... why might you ask - because running gives me solace and consistency in my life - or even balance.  Without it, the kids would kill me and the corporate world would eat me alive.  Running keeps me home, happy, and out of the mental ward :)

By the way.... in January 2011, I traveled with one of my best friends to Miami to run the half marathon - kid and family free!  However, to my luck, I was just getting over the dreaded stomach flu.  However, NOTHING was going to stop me from getting on the plane and running that race.  At about mile 9....I became sick, really sick :(  I was able to check off something off my bucket list that I truly didn't know was on my bucket list....puking mid-stride while running and not even slowing down.  Not to say I am too proud of that moment, but my friend kept encouraging me to stay strong and finish....you WARRIOR PRINCESS!  Wow....I loved it.  My dad called me a warrior a couple days befor and told me I'd be able to kick the stomach flu.  So I didn't just run and finish, but swatted stomach flu in the face with grace and ease....so take that!

Here are my stories in survival of:  raising twins, being a working mama, running races....and just getting through the crazy challenges that life throws at me day to day :)
